Main problems of the area, before the improvement began, were broken footpaths, bridges and stairs, absence of points of attraction, lack of recreational facilities, poor state of the landscaping, dim evening light, neglect and desolation.Nizhny Novgorod residents involved in discussing the development of the territory talked about the location and views as its core values. And the biggest request was respect for the environment, layout and landscape.It was necessary to improve walkways infrastructure, create recreational areas and points of attraction – make the embankment more comfortable for walk or views.

After improvement many places for leisure have appeared in the park, as well as sports and play areas, places for contemplation, learning history, performances and small events.Despite a steep relief, all main areas became available for citizens of low mobility thanks to smooth descent and ramps.Multi-level playground beats the relief and offers children conquer the slopes. Sports ground aside in the shade allows amateurs to warm up and carry out full strength training.On the lower terrace is a yoga zone and shoring for slacklining – walking along a suspended length of flat webbing – it was the request of the society.

As well as steles that show temperature, pressure, humidity and air quality.The embankment has become one of the most popular city places in all seasons. In summer there are performances, picnics and sports. Small and large companies often rest here, people ride a swing and meet the sunset. To this adds in the winter downhill sledding, riding on cheesecakes and snowboarding.

The promenade near the park and the light installation in the park is a concept by ?Arch group? architecture bureau.Main idea of the project is creating a nature's theatre – terracing systems on the hillsides, where the citizens simultaneously become the audience of nature's theatre and the participants of urban scenes.Together the terraces of the park become a large amphitheatre that has quiet or active rest at every level. A park visitor not only observes, but also becomes an actor for those who are on the terraces above. The theme of theatre is reflected in the colour of small architectural forms, in the ?curtain? of the ropes, in the scene with a directional light on the playground and in other details.The nature's theme is emphasised by openness of the space, by landscaping that goes from the shores to terraces. Moreover, in the park there are lots of comfortable places for experiencing the natural world: rivers, sky, herbs and movement of the city.
