Degasification or gas stripping prevents or delays the time for the production or rising

sludge as a certain gas production is going to take place after the degasification
before the water is sufficiently super saturated for gas bubbles to be formed again.
Degasification may take place mechanically/hydraulically,or by means of vacuum.Refrigeration stops the biological process temporarily and consequently prevents the formation of new gas bubbles for a period of time.

In fluidized filters,the filter media are cleaned mechanically for the adhered biomass whereas it is the aim of the function of the expanded filter that the treatment takes place in the filter itself in that the filter particles rub against each other.In the rotating disc,the sloughing off of the slime is controlled by the rotation rate of the disc.
