Membrane Bioreactor Process/Mechanical Engineer Location: ShanghaiThe purpose of the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Process/Mechanical Engineer is to act as an expert MBR technical and engineering resource for the Global Engineering Center (GEC) team of Water & Process Solutions’ (DW&PS) Greater Commercial team. The GEC team includes design and after sales service engineers, who are responsible for the technical support and systems integration of the TM Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Ultrafiltration (UF), and Electrodeionization (EDI) products for our Global Commercial teams.

The purpose of the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) Process/Mechanical Engineer is to act as an expert MBR technical and engineering resource for the Global Engineering Center (GEC) team of Water & Process Solutions’ (DW&PS) Greater Commercial team. The GEC team includes design and after sales service engineers, who are responsible for the technical support and systems integration of the TM Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Ultrafiltration (UF), and Electrodeionization (EDI) products for our Global Commercial teams.
The individual will need to effectively coordinate activities between the global DW&PS and Environmental teams. The main responsibility will be for the MBR products; however, there will be a high level of interaction with’s UF, EDI, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Ion Exchange (IX, IER) products as we move to integrated solutions. The candidate will also provide feedback to the Applications Development, Research & Development, and Marketing teams for product improvement and development opportunities.
There will be a high degree of outside-in focus to represent the business at relevant trade associations, and delivering technical papers that highlight our capabilities and experience in targeted applications.
The individual needs to have a minimum of 5 years experience and technical expertise in MBR system design & engineering. Experience with UF, EDI, RO, and/or IX will be of additional benefit. In addition, the candidate should have a strong background in water and wastewater treatment, including membrane processes and biological nutrient removal. The candidate should have technical background and knowledge of international engineering standards and best practices, and the professional qualities to drive the commercial success of the business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Expert MBR technical and engineering resource of the Global Engineering Center team which includes design and after sales functions. Scope of services includes process/mechanical design & engineering, project management, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical training & presentations to internal & external stakeholders.
• Provide technical knowledge and engineering best practices throughout the DW&PS organization and to our customers.
• Plan and monitor project schedules and execution within time, budget, and quality expectations.
• Ensure timely and technically-sound responses to Requests for Proposals from the sales organization, and ensure that documentation meets World-class standards.
• Develop sales tools and project deliverables such as O&M manuals, case histories, data sheets, and presentations.
• Provide feedback to Applications Development, Research & Development, and Marketing teams for product improvement and development opportunities.
• Interface with Environmental teams for process engineering and skid/system design.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant experience in MBR system design & engineering. Experience with UF, EDI, RO, and/or IX will be of additional benefit.
• Teamwork and good communication skills are essential due to globally-aligned business and culturally-diverse work environment.
• Experience in overseas assignments will be preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD packages.
• Proficiency in Chinese and English, oral and written.
